Background firmware (ROM) update checks On Xiaomi devices, the mobile app may periodically check for HyperOS/MIUI updates in the background and compare the installed build with the Otree.pro firmware catalog. For this purpose, only technical data may be sent to our server (api.otree.pro): device codename, firmware region, build version (incremental), Android version, device manufacturer, and summarized data from Xiaomi’s official update service (miota), including version numbers and download links. We do not transmit accounts, contacts, photos, messages, or other personal content on your device. This data is used to keep the firmware catalog up to date and to inform the community about new releases. The check runs as part of normal app operation and does not require a separate opt-in in the app UI. Push notifications about available ROM updates still depend only on your system notification permission. 7.
